Broadband Expansion Grant Program Winners

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin last week awarded $124,967,392 in funding for 71 projects in the state’s Broadband Expansion Grant Program.

The projects, which are aimed at areas that are unserved or underserved, will bring broadband to more than 82,912 residences and 4,566 businesses in 45 counties. The projects will be supplemented by $185,780,074 in matching funds from recipients.

State Broadband Expansion Grants.

Governor Tony Evers and Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Chairperson Rebecca Cameron Valcq announced additional funding would be available for the current round of the State Broadband Expansion Grants. This brings the total available funds to $125 million-- $25 million more than what was announced in November. The Commission is expected to make grant decisions in the coming weeks.

WSTA Hall of Fame Award

It was an honor to present Jean Pauk with the WSTA Hall of Fame Award at our 2022 Annual Convention earlier this week. Jean enjoyed a long and productive career at TDS Telecommunications LLC . She made significant contributions to WSTA and the telecommunications industry throughout her career. Jean is a great addition to the WSTA Hall of Fame!
